You know if it’s gone viral I need to give it a whirl! And this Banana Bread Iced Latte is super popular right now. My version is loaded with nutrition but not with refined sugar, and includes a chocolate syrup-lined glass to kick it up a notch. It comes together with an easy-to-make banana simple syrup, cold brew coffee, and caramelized banana cold foam (yum!) made with our FlavCity Vanilla Cream Protein Smoothie. Put it all together and you’ve got yourself a high-protein, low-glycemic treat with a boost of caffeine. What more could you ask for?

Directions
1. Make the banana simple syrup. In a sauce pan, peel and add one banana, smash it up,
then add maple syrup, water, cinnamon, and salt. Place it on medium heat and let it
come to a simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat, then stir in the
vanilla extract. Strain the mixture, removing all the fruit pulp and keeping the liquid. Set
aside. If the syrup is too thick, add a splash of water.
2. Make the chocolate sauce. In another sauce pan prepare the chocolate sauce by adding
water, cocoa powder, coconut sugar, and salt. Bring to a gentle boil while stirring
constantly. Once it gets to a desired consistency, remove from heat then stir in the
vanilla extract. Set aside.
3. Make the carmelized banana cold foam. Peel and slice up another banana and add it to
a small frying pan over medium heat with butter, cinnamon, and coconut sugar.
Caramelize the bananas for a few minutes, then set aside to cool. In a nutribullet or
blender, add the caramelized banana, milk, and FlavCity Vanilla Cream Protein
Smoothie, blend until smooth.
4. To a cup gently pour and swirl a little bit of the chocolate sauce around the inside, add
ice, 2 tablespoons of the banana simple syrup, 4 oz of the cold brew coffee, and top with
some of the carmelized banana cold foam. Enjoy!
