Stracciatella Protein Ice Cream
Bobby Parrish May 28, 2024
The Italian word “stracciatella" means “little shreds” or “little strings,” which are created by adding hot melted chocolate to cold ice cream. And if that sounds delicious, it is! But my version of stracciatella is a plant-based, high-protein delicacy! And wow, is it delicious! This Stracciatella Protein Ice Cream is made with our FlavCity Vegan Vanilla Cream Protein Smoothie, coconut milk, and chocolate chips. Summertime is for ice cream, and believe me, you’re gonna wanna make this cool, creamy treat!

  • In a shaker bottle, add the coconut milk and FlavCity Plant-Based Vanilla Cream Protein Smoothie. Shake it up until smooth then pour it into a Ninja Creami container. Cover it with the lid and freeze overnight.
  • The next day, take the container out of the fridge and pop it onto the Ninja Creami machine, press the ‘Lite Ice Cream’ button and let it run.
  • Meanwhile, melt the chocolate chips over a double boiler.
  • Once the ice cream has finished the cycle, open it up and make a well in the center almost all the way to the bottom. Then pour the melted chocolate inside that well.
  • Pop the container back on the machine and hit the ‘Mix-In’ button.
  • Once it’s done, scoop, serve and enjoy!

*Note: To make this a dairy-based ice cream, you can substitute the plant-based protein with 2 scoops FlavCity whey-based Vanilla Cream Protein Smoothie, and substitute the coconut milk with either heavy cream or half & half.
